New Bristol Brewery
Heavy Duty Polyurethane Resin Screed with Radial Coving
Project Description
The New Bristol Brewery needed to extend their brewing facilities to accommodate 4 new, 4000 litre tanks. GSS won the contract with their specification of a 9mm, heavy-duty polyurethane resin screed and resin coving and rendering to the perimeter bund walls.
The old ceramic tiles were removed, and the concrete substrate was mechanically prepared using vacuum-assisted diamond- bladed floor grinders. New gully drains were installed, and low-level blockwork walls were fixed to create a bunded area.
The floor area was then screeded with a 9mm, three-component, polyurethane resin screed. A radial cove detail was formed from the new floor around the perimeter walls and bund, which continued up and over the bund walls, to an additional radial cove on the outside of the area.
This solvent and taint-free resin system is ideal for the food industry and most other areas requiring a fast curing, heavy-duty, slip and chemical resistant finish. It can be applied between 6-9mm thick and steam cleaned at the thicker depth.
