Project Description

Birds Engineering needed to rejuvenate an old, run down warehouse into a functional mechanical engineering workshop. The old vinyl floor coverings, ceramic tiles and paint coatings were mechanically removed before the existing substrate was diamond ground to optimal condition to receive primers and toppings.

A nominal 40mm application of Maxit Webber’s cement-based levelling layer was then pumped over the floor in two applications to achieve the required level. Finally, all existing expansion joints were cut back through the new slab and reinstated with a polysulphide joint compound.
