New self-smoothing, cement-based levelling screed with satin seal coats have now been completed for a North London Audio and Visual recording studio.
The client wanted a polished concrete finish but with only a maximum height of10mm build up for their floor, a traditional 100mm polished concrete was not feasible. GSS specified an 8-10mm, self-smoothing levelling screed which would be polished and sealed with a polyurethane satin seal coat.
Once all the old substrate was fully prepared using diamond floor grinders, two applications of an epoxy DPM primer were applied prior to the cement-based levelling screed. All the expansion joints were then reinstated through the cured screed and three coats of a two-part, polyurethane seal coat were applied by roller to give the effect of a polished concrete finish.
